THE PINES is a true hard enduro event set deep in the Maramarua pine forest, designed in the spirit of iconic Erzberg-style races. Limited to 100 riders, this is an exclusive, demanding test of skill, fitness, and mental resolve.

The course winds through dense pine forest on clay-based terrain that becomes brutally technical when wet. Expect steep climbs, steep descents, deep ruts, endless roots, and constantly changing traction. This is terrain that punishes mistakes and rewards commitment and smart riding. Conditions can turn slippery fast, and the forest will decide how far you go.

The day begins with a prologue at 9:30am, setting the start order for the main race. Racing starts at 12:00pm, with the fastest riders released first, followed by the remainder of the field in single-file intervals. From there, it’s three hours of relentless hard enduro with no easy kilometres.

There is prize money on offer, as well as finisher medals awarded to those who make it to the end. You'll want to start racking up these medals for sure!

With a 3-hour time allowance, simply finishing THE PINES will be a major achievement - one that earns genuine respect.
