What is a Kids Camp?

The Power Adventures, Honda-supported Kids Campouts have been running for over 25 years now.  Formulated by Power Adventures, they are unique in that they focus on the kids and their families with kids having priority. You don’t have to have a Honda to come to the camps – heaps of brands of bike turn up and enjoy the fun.

The camps are held over three days (four at Rotoiti) with some of the best venues in the country having been selected for their uniqueness like none other. The concept is that you set up camp with your own accommodation (can be anything from a van, enclosed trailer, mobile home, caravan, tent or even in a swag – some people even stay at nearby motels), whatever is best for you. You bring your own food and cooking gear (usually a BBQ) and you are set for the three days. Oh and don't forget your bike! Most people bring generators, which have a curfew of 10 pm.

Hot showers and flushing Portaloos are provided onsite with Ladies Only toilets well labeled.

Families certainly make friends at the camps, and it is not unusual for groups of families to corral their tents and vans like in the wild wild west, enjoying each other’s company and socialising after riding. You are permitted to bring refreshments although there are noise curfews in place so the kids can get a good night’s sleep before the next day’s riding. Don’t forget your deck chairs so you can join in the Quiz Night or relax with your friends. Everyone is welcome.

Riding is between 9am and 3pm. All the tracks and trails are designed with the kids in mind which means they are easy and safe. To give everyone a good ride, there are up to six different tracks and trails that are colour-coded according to their difficulty.

2026 Kids Camp Dates

Lake Rotoiti Camping area

January 8-11    Thursday-Sunday

Lake Rotoiti - Rotorua

Some leave the best for last, but we kick off the season with it. Known across New Zealand and the kids camp spot to get to, the Lake Rotoiti Kids Camp is nestled right beside the lake of the same name. Spend your days ripping the trails and afternoons in the water.

January 31 - February 1    Friday - Sunday

Holly Farm - Marton

Holly Farm is our southern most Kids Camp and goes under the radar of most, but this incredible sheep farm has a lot more than meets the eye. With super-smoother terrain, beautiful rolling hills and a mountain bike and walking track surrounding the property, it's a real gem.
